WALLPAPER PASTE AND LIQUID WALLPAPER REMOVER

PROPERTIES
ATLAS ALPAN WALLPAPER PASTE is a mix of modified methylcellulose derivatives, while ATLAS ALPAN SPECIAL WALPAPER PASTE and ATLAS ALPAN PLUS are mixes of modified methylcellulose derivatives and new generation synthetic resin. All products contain bactericidal and fungicidal agents. They are easy and convenient to use. Thanks to high plasticity, they allow the length of wallpaper to be adjusted after it's been pasted onto the surface. ATLAS ALPAN WALLPAPER PASTES are characterised by good bonding qualities, they are efficient to use, and leave no spots after drying.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be sound, clean, dry, smooth and it should not be excessively absorptive. Using ATLAS ALPAN LIQUID WALLPAPER REMOVER, the wall should be cleaned of all residue of old wallpaper. Any fractures or damage should be filled smooth using GIPSAR FINISHING MIX. If the wallpaper is to be fixed onto plasterboard surfaces, board seams should be given a smooth finish. After the substrate has been cleaned and smoothed, it should be sealed using the solution of ATLAS ALPAN WALLPAPER PASTE, thinned with water, taking 1 part of the paste per 80 parts of water.

PASTE PREPARATION

All types of ATLAS ALPAN WALLPAPER PASTE are prepared by pouring dry mixture into carefully measured amount of cold water, while stirring vigorously. After 3 minutes the paste solution have to be mixed again then left for approximately 15 - 30 minutes and mixed again. After that it is ready to be used.

APPLICATION

Wallpaper is to be covered evenly with paste solution. The thickness of the paste layer to be applied depends on the wallpaper's absorptivity. After the full length of wallpaper has been covered, the wallpaper has to be folded and left to soak (usually for 5 - 10 minutes). When being placed onto the wall, the wallpaper has to be pressed firmly to the surface with a paper roller, so as to prevent the formation of air blisters between the wall surface and the wallpaper. One should also remember to follow any instructions provided by the wallpaper manufacturer.

TOOLS

Mixer, painting brush, paper roller. Tools should be washed with clean water directly after use.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

All types of ATLAS ALPAN WALLPAPER PASTE should be kept and transported in tightly closed packages, in dry conditions, protected against moisture. They remain fit for use for 12 months.
